Enhancing Your Internet Presence Through Online Profiles
Working At Home On Your Internet Presence
Your internet presence is an important part of working at home and every online profile you create can enhance that presence. Moving into the technical realm of the online business world is outside the comfort zone for most people but starting here allows you to comfortably move forward toward the ultimate goal.
The internet has completely changed the way most people seek to acquire new information. Uncovering important knowledge is only a click away from virtually anywhere on the planet. People expect a lot when they start searching online.
People are no longer willing to waste time because time is far too valuable. Business owners working at home have to balance the time spent developing their online presence with all the other income producing activities.
Why Start Here?
It is easier than ever to create your own website or blog which are definitely your most valuable internet properties. However, you may not fully understand exactly what you want to do with your blog but you already know who you are and why you chose home business.
Think for a moment from the perspective of trying to find someone to work with online:
1. How important are the pictures and videos of this person?
2. Do I feel a connection to them based on what they share about themselves?
3. Am I compelled to know more about them?
Web 2.0 and social media sites offer free online profiles. They also have high site and page ranking on the search engines. Posting profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube and other sites is not a difficult process and offers mass exposure.
Expanding Your Presence
You want mass exposure and the internet doesn't want duplicate copy. That means you can't just plaster the same bio everywhere.
Eventually you want to have multiple profiles containing biographies that are all slightly different. You want them to be interesting if not downright exciting but you also want to convey important information.
1. A personal history that helps to identify you. (Working woman starting a family, construction worker on disability, college graduate became entrepreneur etc…)
2. Your passion, mission, vision emotionally portrayed (Why home business?)
3. An offer or invitation for people to connect with you more intimately.
Your profile picture should also come under serious consideration even if you chose one picture for most or all of your profiles:
1. A professional photograph
2. Candid, friendly, happy, positive
3. The exact emotion you hope to invoke (confidence, curiosity, comfort…)
Your Video Presence
The ultimate goal in working at home is to build a network of people with very specific characteristics. Your video has the ability to:
1. Weed out those people that are likely to waste your time
2. Make a profound connection to those who will work well with you
If a picture and a bio sounds personal wait until you sit in front of a camera to expose your soul. I know it sounds scary if you've never done it before but joining people in business is personal and the internet isn't; unless you make it so.
Trying to escape the requirement to enhance your internet presence through video isn't an option for people who are committed to working at home. Your videos allow you to sift through thousands of people currently searching for home business opportunities. When the people you are looking for find you, they will feel like they already know you.

Help getting CA Security Center Firewall to unblock elements of Facebook and other sites?
Well I've determined, by temporarily turning the firewall off and then on again, that my CA Security Center Firewall is stopping parts of Facebook (as well as other sites) from loading. I'm not too familiar with getting this anti-virus to allow specific sites and such, so I'm wondering if anyone can help me find a way to get *this CA Security Center Firewall specifically* to allow Facebook applications and such to go through and work properly? The game Scramble, for example, had the actual interactive game part blocked, yet when I turned the firewall off it was working fine. The same with the expandable sections of my profile info when editing - with the firewall on they would expand a bit and have the rest blocked, whereas with it off they expanded entirely to be fully editable. Help please?
Go here it will tell you how to configure CA firewall.
