Cosmetic surgeries refer to a subspecialty that is concerned primarily with the maintenance, restoration, or enhancement of an individual's physical appearance through surgical and medical techniques. In the Western hemisphere, the number of cosmetic surgery procedures has risen dramatically in the past decade.
Problems may be present at birth or come with age. They are problems not so much because of the way they make you look, but the way they make you feel. Most people agree that what is on the inside is most important, but now people have started realizing that the outside can also effect how you feel about yourself inside. An unwanted feature or appearance can make you self-conscious and less confident. That is what plastic surgery is all about, not vain, narcissistic people.
There are two types of aesthetic plastic surgery procedures: rejuvenation and alteration.
Rejuvenation focuses on minimizing the possessions of aging. Aging can cause someone who feels young and alive to look old and depressed. Although often the realization is sudden and painful, the tired and older look of aging is the result of a process that began many years before.
As the tissue loses its youthful elasticity, gravity pulls downward, resulting in bags, wrinkles, pouches, and jowls. Unfortunately, there is no potion, cream, or medicine to shrink the skin, fat, or muscle back to its youthful contours. Only a cosmetic surgeon can make the tissues fit the frame snugly once again.
As per the study it's noted that there are three dimensions or stages to accept cosmetic surgeries amongst people:
(1) Intrapersonal: - Representing attitudes related to the self-oriented benefits of cosmetic surgery. For example: People when start thinking that in the future what all good and bad will happen, after going through cosmetic surgery ?
(2) Social: - Measuring social motivations for having cosmetic surgery. For example: When people start thinking that if it would benefit my career, I would go for a cosmetic surgery.
(3) Consider: - Assessing the likelihood that a participant would consider for having a cosmetic surgery; for example: When person gets convinced, then he goes ahead for a surgical procedure for a cost affordable as per pocket.
